Trial of Arsonists At Marfin Bank Postponed Until September 2015

The trial of two men that are suspected in the lethal arson attacks against a Marfin bank branch and the "Ianos" bookstore in down town Athens which occurred in May 2010 was set to finally begin this week, but according to Greek press reports it has been postponed for September 21, 2015.

It should be reminded that the arson attack, which took place during a major protest in Athens against the government of George Papandreou, resulted in the tragic death of three bank employees (one of which was also pregnant).

According to the Misdemeanor Council’s indictment, one of the two men suspected in this unprecedented crime, was assisted by two other suspects in setting the bank ablaze with Molotov cocktails.

The second suspect is facing charges for an arson attack against the "Ianos" book store.
