Senior Bulgarian law enforcement officials held talks with Greek officials this past week in an effort to locate a former national security head Petko Sertov, who suddenly went missing.
According to reports from Bulgaria, on December 5th, Sertov left his home in Sofia, leaving behind his two mobile phones and his international passport. He then apparently drew cash and climbed into a car heading in the direction of Greece. Video footage appears to confirm that he crossed the Bulgarian-Greek border.
His disappearance was reported by Sertov’s wife on December 6th and a missing person case that has prompted headlines in Bulgarian media for a fortnight got underway.
An alert declaring Sertov a missing person has been posted by Interpol.
