A report in To Vima said that US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland is to arrive in Athens on Sunday. Nuland is apparently going to meet and hold talks with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Minister of Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos.
Her trip follows a series of discussions on bilateral issues that were discussed with the General Secretary of the Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Mitsialis in Washington, and which were then followed by Mr. Venizelos’ trip to the American capital. The report in To Vima notes that her talks in Athens will centralize on bilateral and international issues, financial growth and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
Following her meetings, Nuland is planning on travelling to Nicosia on February 4th, where she is expected to meet with Cypriot leaders and discuss matters related to the Cypriot dispute.
