The Greek PM said that the cooperation with the OECD is going to be on the reform agenda of the government, with a progressive sign, based on, as he said, "the popular mandate and the programme we announced in the Parliament."
On his part, Gurria allowed it to be understood that he did not decide to visit Athens to show Greece what to do, but because the OECD works in the field of reforms. He said that the OECD can advise the government about what other countries do in similar situations, in order to provide the best solutions for Greek citizens.
He said that as an OECD member, the OECD is wants to work with Greece for Greece, while he stressed that the benefits of growth should be directed at the majority of Greeks and not the few.
