It should be reminded that Christodoulos Xiros was sentenced to life imprisonment after he failed to return to jail in December 2013 after being given a nine-day prison leave.
During the time of his arrest, he was wearing a blond wig and was carrying a weapon. According to the report on defencenet, Xiros, who had also grown a beard, did not present any signs of resistance when arrested.
Following his arrest he was led to the counter-terrorism unit and he will later be taken before a prosecutor.
A few minutes after the story broke, Public Order Minister Vasilis Kikilias congratulated the Greek Police for a job well done.
Formed in the mid seventies, the November 17 terrorist organization is apparently responsible for the assassination of 23 people, while it also committed more than 100 attacks against various targets around Greece. The organization was (supposedly) disbanded in 2002, when a number of its members, including Xiros, were arrested.
