Two new Athens metro stations will be inaugurated by the Minister of Development on Friday and will be given for public use on Saturday. The first station is in front of the Peristeri Town Hall and the second in Anthoupolis. The time between Anthoupolis and Syntagma square is now going to be not more than 13 minutes. The Athens Metro estimates that more than 50,000 passengers will be using these two new metro lines daily. A third new station in Haidari is expected to follow, but will begin operating in September, while the extension to the area of Elliniko -including four more stations on that route- will be ready by July 2014.
