INCREDIBLE - Video Confirms Fear About Weak Security in Greek Prisons

Security cameras at Attica’s maximum-security Korydallos Prison apparently recorded a video in which an inmate jumped out of his cell window, collected a package dropped into the prison yard by accomplices on the outside, and then got back into his cell. This shocking incident was unnoticed by the guards stationed there and only comes to confirm the fears about increasingly weak and lax security in Greece's prisons.

Quoting sources, a report in Kathimerini claims that a late-night sortie is one in a series of escapades undertaken by inmates at the Korydallos prison. Inmates are believed to have smuggled spare parts for weapons as well as narcotics into the facility after using metal files to cut through their cell bars. The source told Kathimerini that the inmates use a mixture of sourdough and yeast to stick the cell bars back together.

The same report says that searches conducted on prison cells,  once the content of the video became known, turned up only the breech block of a gun, Kathimerini understands, though the subsequent interrogation of inmates led to the discovery of a gun – believed to have been constructed from spare parts – as well as two hand grenades.
