Seventh suspect in IKA fraud case arrested



The seventh suspect wanted by authorities investigating a major case of fraud at the Kallithea branch of the Social Insurance Foundation (IKA) was finally arrested, news reports in Athens said. The suspect, who was identified as Myrsine Thomakou, 66, a retired IKA employee living at Kotrona in Mani, is accused of participating in a criminal ring formed in order to defraud the social insurance foundation by paying out fake benefits and health care compensation and will face charges of fraud, embezzlement, legalising income from criminal activity and forming a criminal organisation.
