Unbelievable ... Blogger Ready To Stage Corpus Aris Velouchiotis if Corpus Cristi Play Continues

We read some of the blog posts on ygro-pyr.blogspot from time to time, and we believe it when the blogger says that he will do it. Besides, when there is a will there is a way and everything is possible.

On his web page he states:
Anyone who does not like, the Constitutionally recognized formal religion of Greece and does not respect the majority of the Greeks who embrace this religion, should simply leave this country. They are completely free to go and they will be doing us a favor by emptying up space for us anyway. We have had enough with self-seeking, anti-Greek hypocrites.
If I, as a filmmaker decided to stage a similar play like Corpus Cristi (the play portrays Jesus and his disciples as being gay) with the title Corpus Velouchiotis, starring Aris Velouchiotis (as a gay man) who runs in the mountains and valleys with his guerrillas, then I would be termed a fascist and all these people who today are calling all of us (Christians) who were offended by the  play fascists would forget about what they said (the following day to the mainstream media) about democracy, and the freedom of expression. Greece's prosecution should have convicted all these wannabes a long time ago, because they use blaspheme against the prevailing religion of Greece. Isn't the United States the land of expression? Then why were the creators of the satirical film about the prophet Mohamed arrested there?
Why is it that in Greece we continually allow certain individuals to purposely insult our  beliefs (whatever they are)? And why are they never punished?
Source in Greek - http://ygro-pyr.blogspot.gr/2012/10/blog-post_12.html

Aris Velouchiotis was the leader and chief instigator of the Leftist Greek People's Liberation Army (ELAS), the military branch of the National Liberation Front (EAM), which was the resistance organization in occupied Greece from 1942 to 1945. Aris Velouchiotis was appointed military leader of ELAS at the beginning of the Resistance Movement, by the EAM leadership, being at the same time a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). In other words he is to the Left what Thatcher is to the Right.

Editor's Note - I have a feeling we are going to see many "Brokeback Mountain" type of movies and plays... oh my oh my...

Tom Heneghan Intel Brief: IMF Issues Direct Communique

To read the first part of this article titled -  EXPLOSIVE BREAKING NEWS: - IMF Issues Direct Communique- click here.

The article by Tom Heneghan, reference to Christine Legarde’s (President of the IMF) apparent communications with President Obama, Tim Geithner, and Ben Bernecke, just doesn’t correspond with the reality surrounding The Mitterand Protocols.
Please allow me to explain.

The Mitterand Protocols go back to the early 1980’s when Reagan executed a Presidential Executive Order which created Eleven (11) different teams whose orders / directives were to obtain as much of the assets of the Collateral Accounts, by whatever means necessary, which were to be then utilised on the Federal Reserve Trading Platforms to generate funds to finance a highly covert operation to destroy what America then referred to as “Communism in Russia” which is far less communism control than exists in America today. Many will remember that V.K.Durham (Watcher 51445) constantly made mention of this Executive Order issued by Regan, the Eleven Teams of which two of the heads of these teams are still alive, and of course LeoWanta.

The Mitterand Protocols were initiated by President Mitterand of France, President Reagan of the US, and Margaret Thatcher of the UK. There was NO AUTHORISATION from the then effective International Treasury Controller, being, at the time, President Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines who was also the Holder, at the time, of the Alpha – Omega Ring; for assets of the Collateral Accounts to be utilised for such questionable activities by the above persons.

What the three above persons than attempted to do was to bring some form of legalisation to the matter by introducing the GLOBAL SETTLEMENTS (originally designed and initiated in the late 1970’s by Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines) to the whole devious and unlawful scheme, which, not unexpectedly, brought in many other countries as signatories all expecting massive payouts in the hundreds of billions of US Dollars, which would have, in due course, benefited their own countries. At this stage I clearly point out that all of those countries who executed the revised Mitterand Protocols had already executed the Global Settlements Treaty initiated by Ferdinand Marcos (We have a certified Copy of the Marcos Treaty dated 1980) in which every country would have been allocated very substantial assets to develop and expand their own economies.

Of course, the Mitterand Protocols all failed because Ferdinand Marcos did not authorised use of Collateral Account Assets and certainly did not authorise his own plan / treaty of the Global Settlements to be stolen and then used /appended to the Mitterand Protocols which were an unlawful activity and totally fraudulent. A result of this was that Ferdinand Marcos was subsequently deposed in 1986 and referred to a criminal, mainly by the bigger criminals.

Leo Wanta (An American Ambassador in a north east African country) was the head of one of those teams.

Leo Wanta was successful in stealing a substantial amount of assets of the Collateral Accounts which were subsequently utilised in “Trading” through a Federal Reserve Trading Platform. Trillions of US Dollars were generated from these Trading operations, but not before it was recognised as an unlawful Trade based upon the unauthorised use of assets of the Collateral Accounts. The “Trade was “Blocked” whereby what profits were accessible at the time were credited to the Collateral Accounts. Unfortunately, there was still a lot of money out in the system, somewhere, which was unaccounted for.

Unfortunately, part of the profits of the Trade had already been used and moved into Russia and the former Eastern Block countries (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Yugoslavia, Ukraine.) to pay high level officials and special operatives to bring about civil disruption and subsequently the “Fall of the Wall”.

Out of that part, some apparently remained in various International Banks, but some was stored, supposedly secretly in the countries of Russia, and the former Eastern Block countries. In the mid 1990’s DS was in Russia and was taken to secret Military base south of Moscow where close by was a Railway Goods Yard. He was shown 4 Railway Container wagons which were full of polythene packed 100 USD Dollar Notes. At that gathering were two former top Military Generals, two Colonels, a Ministry of Finance Official, a Central Bank Official, and Ten Security Personnel. DS was requested to pick out one of the railway containers and then pick any polythene pack of US Dollar Notes, which he did. The Central Bank Officials randomly pulled several US Dollar Notes from the pack, put the pack back and resealed the Railway wagons. They then returned to the Top Secret Military Base where the Central Bank Officials compared, on specific equipment, the US Dollar Notes taken from the Railway Containers with real US Dollar Notes in the Officials possession.

The US Dollar Notes taken from the Railway Containers turned out to be “Special Print” and not legal Notes. Therefore those persons who had been paid by the Americans, hoping to be wealthy, to create the civil disruption in Russia and the former Eastern Block countries were holding totally fake US Dollar Notes for their efforts and their belief in American ideology strategy.

Big questions started to be raised on this issue, whereby it became plainly obvious that the real money generated from the Trading had been substituted for “Special Print Notes” that held “No Value” whatsoever.

SO WHERE WAS THE REAL MONEY and to which accounts had it been credited to. The answer to this question is only partially known but such information can not be released as all these investigations are still ongoing, as is locating All the remaining money that was generated from the Trade.

The Mitterand Protocols were a sham / scam of enormous portions and totally unlawful, implemented by the above three named persons for totally unlawful and highly covert means. In addition to that, such activities against other Sovereign Nations are in direct breach of the United Nations Protocols and Regulations that control the infringement of Sovereign Nations Territory by other Sovereign Nations. However, these unscrupulous three persons (Mitterand, Reagan, and Thatcher) have the United Nations in their pockets, so they don’t care about such Protocols and Regulations.

Suddenley Leo Wanta comes on the scene making claim to what he referred to as “His Money” which was in fact money generated from the Trade, as above, unlawfully utilising assets of the Collateral Accounts and remaining unused, in bank accounts across the world. This amounted to a figure in excess of $60 trillion USD.

Leo Wanta undertook a deal with the US Treasury for the return to America of this money and Wanta had agreed to pay tax equal to around 4.5 trillion US Dollars. Totally illegal and never to be implemented.

That money that Leo Wanta claims was subsequently blocked, and confiscated, was finally credited to the Collateral Accounts.

Then Michael Cotterill (former colleague of Leo Wanta) comes on the scene making claims which he is not authorised to make and neither is he authorised to touch, negotiate, pledge, discuss, or otherwise, with anyone anything to do with the funds generated from this Trade which unlawfully utilised assets of the Collateral Accounts. Benjamin Fulford maybe right with some of his referencing and commenting about Cotterill as he did in a recent article and broadcast.

I have to give credit where credit is due to Benjamin Fulford on this matter, and state that if this article assists you Benjamin in any way, you are free to utilise this information as you deem fit. It is not often that I give credit to someone who has previously opposed us, but when they say the right and correct things, they deserve it.

The above is basically the whole story surrounding the Mitterand Protocols. There is of course a lot more detail and information to all of this, but I don’t intend to write a book about it with this article.

Let me now attend to Christine Legarde’s present involvement and her comments. Obviously she is totally unaware of the history of all of this, OR, is fully aware (which wouldn’t surprise me at all) but is ignoring the truth, fact, and the unlawful activity surrounding all of this. Whatever, she should learn to keep her mouth shut and stop seeking political “Brownie Points” to substantiate her position and activities at the expense of the people, especially those who are unfortunate enough to have some faith in her.

Christine Legarde has no authority to speak on these matters whatsoever, and should NOT be making comments on something she has no control over, especially to some of the people like Geithner, Bernecke, who were part and parcel of the Mitterand Protocols and other unlawful agreements executed after Ferdinand Marcos was deposed. How can the President of the IMF openly and publicly support unlawful acts and appear to condone and be pleased about it ??????? This should tell everyone an awful lot about Christine Legarde.

We have always advocated the demise of the IMF because it is absolutely unnecessary and a drain on the Taxpayers of the world. It is also a predator on weaker countries and has previously caused immense damage to many countries with its outrageous and destructive conditions. Perhaps Christine Legarde’s recent comments actually give credence to our view / opinion about the demise of the IMF, and not before time either.

I can say without any reservation, that had the Ferdinand proposals of the Global Settlements (as per the Global Settlement Treaty dated 1980 and executed by all countries of the world along with the Presidents / Chairman of the International Institutions such as the IMF, the World Bank, The United Nations, and members of the Hierarchy committee under Ferdinand Marcos); been implemented it is definitely more than possible the world would not be in the enormous financial mess it is currently in.

Unfortunately for the world, America and its crooked Allies thought differently because such Global Settlements Treaty would have removed an awful amount of power and certain influential value over other countries, from America and its Allies, yet they have the audacity and gall to steal the idea from Marcos and attempt to use it in an attempt to legalise the Mitterand Protocols so they can say “We saved the World from its worst financial disaster (one they actually created) since the Great Depression”.

Wanta and Cotterill are still active in their attempts to use / claim these monies. Cotterill has in fact become buddies with the IMF, World Bank and is listed on the disbursement List for the Global Settlements, when he holds no authority whatsoever. Does he believe we are all stupid and doesn’t realise that he has been a bed-mate with these organisations for some time within their unlawful activities. He is no more innocent than the very organisation he is in bed with.

As for Tom Heneghan stating that the Mitterand Protocols are being implemented in Europe is total BS as neither the ECB nor any of the Central Banks or Governments there have any authority to use, touch, sequestrate, or otherwise, what is the property of the Collateral Accounts at this time, and probably never will be given such authority.

I can say that in due course the Global Settlements will be implemented via the International Treasury Controller, but not in the manner that was originally proposed because neither the Central Banks, Commercial Banks or Governments can be trusted with this sort of money, and that is something they have proven over the years and which has become so very evident in the last 4 years and for which many people around the world are now suffering.

The Global Settlements will be implemented under separate Treaties that will be registered and recorded officially and will be non-revocable in terms. Don’t however ask me when because there is an awful mess to clear up first which has been created by those very Central Banks, Commercial Banks, and Governments around the world, but specifically in the west. Putting good money into a defunct and collapsed system will never work, it never has and never will. What is required is a completely new system without these parasites anywhere near it.

There must be an awful amount of desperation from the likes of Legarde, Central Banks, and Governments of the ailing western nations, for them to even publicly mention this, because they are sure to be knowledgeable about the ongoing investigations surrounding this issue. If this is correct, they should be desperate because there is nowhere else for them to go. They have screwed up the International Financial system so much there is nothing they can do anymore to actually save it. All they can do is continue to shore up the crumbling walls and hope for the best, or try, in that desperation, to utilise any unlawful means possible.

EXPLOSIVE BREAKING NEWS: - IMF Issues Direct Communique

International Monetary Fund [oct 25]
International Monetary Fund [oct 25] (Photo credit: JavierPsilocybin)
Tom Heneghan explosive intelligence briefings ALL patriot Americans -and friends of America- MUST know, with sources inside American/European intelligence agencies and INTERPOL, reporting what is really going on behind the scenes of the corporate-controlled, fascist, extortion-friendly propaganda U.S. media's massive deceptions

http://www.myspace.com/tom_heneghan_intel/blog

UNITED States of America - It can now be reported that IMF President Christine Lagarde directly communicated with alleged President Barack Hussein Obama-Soetoro, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernard Bernanke and told them to follow the rule of law and implement the U.S. side of the Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocols and do it NOW!

Note: Lagarde now has full support, on U.S. soil, from the U.S. Marshal Service, the U.S. Inspector General, the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency, along with U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

The Protocols represent a total of $4.5 TRILLION, including 1.5 TRILLION due the U.S. Treasury (hello IRS).

P.S. U.S. Treasury Secretary and check kiter, Timothy Geithner, threw a temper tantrum after talking to Lagarde. Geithner's temper tantrum comes on the heels of the Number 3 official at the top of the U.S. Treasury being forced to resign after being fingered for aiding Bank of America of Charlotte, North Carolina in the purchase of illegal patents and using co-mingled Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocol funds to complete the purchase.

Item: This co-mingling of funds included the $18 billion stolen from Ambassador Leo Wanta by the rogue state of Wisconsin and its Bush-Clinton Crime Family stooge Governor Tommy Thompson.

Reference: The AmeriTrust account and the Children's Defense Fund.

P.P.S. At this hour, the IMF, and now the Comptroller of the Currency, continue to order massive redemption and repatriation of collateralized assets aka precious and industrial metals, along with oil and natural gas holdings, as Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocol implementation continues in Europe at full speed with draw down accounts ready to be implemented with ECB President Mario Draghi now looking for a job from none other than check kiter Timothy Geithner.

It was interesting today that Bloomberg News, aka crooked bank Federal Reserve's news, put out a story about reducing the U.S. budget deficit by $4 trillion and referenced secret negotiations that are taking place in the U.S. Congress.

Message to Bloomberg News: The Wanta-Reagan-Mitterrand Protocols represent $4.5 TRILLION, so the question occurs: Is Bloomberg News and Timothy Geithner trying to get a $500 billion commission?

Bloomberg News also put out more disinformation and propaganda when they stated that the IMF wanted lower interest rates in Europe.

This Communique came from the Washington-based IMF, which has 35% minority controlling interest in the IMF, and actually represents the U.S. Treasury and check kiter Timothy Geithner.

65% of the IMF's controlling interest remains in Europe where the rule of law is being followed and the Protocols are being implemented.

P.P.P.S. Stay tuned for future intelligence briefings, which will include an update on the corrupt financial regulators: the SEC, the NFA and the CFTC in ignoring massive insider trading done by corrupt and crooked U.S. banks reference: JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America on behalf of crooked politicians and U.S. media big shots like Anderson Cooper of CNN, Wolf Blitzer of CNN, Chrissy Pooh Matthews of MSNBC and both Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity of FOX News.

These little, overpaid multi-millionaire media punks were given heads up on IPOs by the aforementioned corrupt banks and, accordingly, made millions in profits.

These corrupt financial regulators continue to try to frame the little fish to enrich the big fish.

Finally, remember, the corrupt, fascist, extortion-friendly U.S. media filth are completely controlled and subsidized by the corrupt banking interests.

That is why election 2012 has "bank dick Obama" running against "bank dick Romney".

PROVOCATION - Davutoglu Leaves And Turkish Warships Sail By Evia!

credit onalert
The Turkish government is continuing to provoke the sentiment of the Greek people. A new provocation was recorded at the weekend when a Turkish warship illegally entered Greek territorial waters only a few days after the statements made by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on a "free Aegean". According to an announcement from the Hellenic Armed Forces, and more specifically the General Staff, the Turkish corvette "BAFRA" (from the port of Izmir), entered Greek territorial waters at 19:00 on October 13 and made its way alll the way to Spatial, Evia. The warship then moved between Andros, Kea and Kythnos and began heading southwest at about 22:00  the same evening. The frigate then set sail for international waters west of the island of Milos, and northwest of and southeast of Crete, and on Monday morning the ship was spotted near the limits of Athens' FIR. The Hellenic navy monitored the Turkish vessel at all times. - Article in Greek - onalert

JFK - A World Of Fear And Secret Wars (VIDEOS)

John F. Kennedy
Cover of John F. Kennedy
You have probably heard this speech before, but nonetheless we here at HellasFrappe feel that it deserves your attention once again. Listen carefully to this incredible audio recording of a speech made by US President John F. Kennedy before the American Newspaper Publishers Association on April 27, 1961 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York City. In the two videos below, JFK directly warns the press about the secret societies that are the real power in global -economic and political- affairs. After reading or listening to the whole speech, pause for a moment and think about the developments in your area of the world. Are there forces that are imposing their interests on your government? And if yes, then ask yourself what you as a citizen can do to expose them. You have to stop feeling secure with your Plasma TVs and begin feeling secure in a world with real democracy. Indeed JFK attempted to that, and it eventually cost him his life... but keep in mind, we are not the same society we were in the 60s. We are a new generation, which is better educated, and more aware of what is going on. Spread the word, and raise awareness, the New World Order cannot win... they are only one percent and we are 99/% !!!
President John F. Kennedy
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York City
April 27, 1961

    Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen:

I appreciate very much your generous invitation to be here tonight.

You bear heavy responsibilities these days and an article I read some time ago reminded me of how particularly heavily the burdens of present day events bear upon your profession.

You may remember that in 1851 the New York Herald Tribune under the sponsorship and publishing of Horace Greeley, employed as its London correspondent an obscure journalist by the name of Karl Marx.

We are told that foreign correspondent Marx, stone broke, and with a family ill and undernourished, constantly appealed to Greeley and managing editor Charles Dana for an increase in his munificent salary of $5 per installment, a salary which he and Engels ungratefully labeled as the "lousiest petty bourgeois cheating."

But when all his financial appeals were refused, Marx looked around for other means of livelihood and fame, eventually terminating his relationship with the Tribune and devoting his talents full time to the cause that would bequeath the world the seeds of Leninism, Stalinism, revolution and the cold war.

If only this capitalistic New York newspaper had treated him more kindly; if only Marx had remained a foreign correspondent, history might have been different. And I hope all publishers will bear this lesson in mind the next time they receive a poverty-stricken appeal for a small increase in the expense account from an obscure newspaper man.

I have selected as the title of my remarks tonight "The President and the Press." Some may suggest that this would be more naturally worded "The President Versus the Press." But those are not my sentiments tonight.

It is true, however, that when a well-known diplomat from another country demanded recently that our State Department repudiate certain newspaper attacks on his colleague it was unnecessary for us to reply that this Administration was not responsible for the press, for the press had already made it clear that it was not responsible for this Administration.

Nevertheless, my purpose here tonight is not to deliver the usual assault on the so-called one party press. On the contrary, in recent months I have rarely heard any complaints about political bias in the press except from a few Republicans. Nor is it my purpose tonight to discuss or defend the televising of Presidential press conferences. I think it is highly beneficial to have some 20,000,000 Americans regularly sit in on these conferences to observe, if I may say so, the incisive, the intelligent and the courteous qualities displayed by your Washington correspondents.

Nor, finally, are these remarks intended to examine the proper degree of privacy which the press should allow to any President and his family.

If in the last few months your White House reporters and photographers have been attending church services with regularity, that has surely done them no harm.

On the other hand, I realize that your staff and wire service photographers may be complaining that they do not enjoy the same green privileges at the local golf courses that they once did.

It is true that my predecessor did not object as I do to pictures of one's golfing skill in action. But neither on the other hand did he ever bean a Secret Service man.

My topic tonight is a more sober one of concern to publishers as well as editors.

I want to talk about our common responsibilities in the face of a common danger. The events of recent weeks may have helped to illuminate that challenge for some; but the dimensions of its threat have loomed large on the horizon for many years. Whatever our hopes may be for the future--for reducing this threat or living with it--there is no escaping either the gravity or the totality of its challenge to our survival and to our security--a challenge that confronts us in unaccustomed ways in every sphere of human activity.

This deadly challenge imposes upon our society two requirements of direct concern both to the press and to the President--two requirements that may seem almost contradictory in tone, but which must be reconciled and fulfilled if we are to meet this national peril. I refer, first, to the need for a far greater public information; and, second, to the need for far greater official secrecy.

I
The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.

But I do ask every publisher, every editor, and every newsman in the nation to reexamine his own standards, and to recognize the nature of our country's peril. In time of war, the government and the press have customarily joined in an effort based largely on self-discipline, to prevent unauthorized disclosures to the enemy. In time of "clear and present danger," the courts have held that even the privileged rights of the First Amendment must yield to the public's need for national security.

Today no war has been declared--and however fierce the struggle may be, it may never be declared in the traditional fashion. Our way of life is under attack. Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe. The survival of our friends is in danger. And yet no war has been declared, no borders have been crossed by marching troops, no missiles have been fired.

If the press is awaiting a declaration of war before it imposes the self-discipline of combat conditions, then I can only say that no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent.

It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match.

Nevertheless, every democracy recognizes the necessary restraints of national security--and the question remains whether those restraints need to be more strictly observed if we are to oppose this kind of attack as well as outright invasion.

For the facts of the matter are that this nation's foes have openly boasted of acquiring through our newspapers information they would otherwise hire agents to acquire through theft, bribery or espionage; that details of this nation's covert preparations to counter the enemy's covert operations have been available to every newspaper reader, friend and foe alike; that the size, the strength, the location and the nature of our forces and weapons, and our plans and strategy for their use, have all been pinpointed in the press and other news media to a degree sufficient to satisfy any foreign power; and that, in at least in one case, the publication of details concerning a secret mechanism whereby satellites were followed required its alteration at the expense of considerable time and money.

The newspapers which printed these stories were loyal, patriotic, responsible and well-meaning. Had we been engaged in open warfare, they undoubtedly would not have published such items. But in the absence of open warfare, they recognized only the tests of journalism and not the tests of national security. And my question tonight is whether additional tests should not now be adopted.

The question is for you alone to answer. No public official should answer it for you. No governmental plan should impose its restraints against your will. But I would be failing in my duty to the nation, in considering all of the responsibilities that we now bear and all of the means at hand to meet those responsibilities, if I did not commend this problem to your attention, and urge its thoughtful consideration.

On many earlier occasions, I have said--and your newspapers have constantly said--that these are times that appeal to every citizen's sense of sacrifice and self-discipline. They call out to every citizen to weigh his rights and comforts against his obligations to the common good. I cannot now believe that those citizens who serve in the newspaper business consider themselves exempt from that appeal.

I have no intention of establishing a new Office of War Information to govern the flow of news. I am not suggesting any new forms of censorship or any new types of security classifications. I have no easy answer to the dilemma that I have posed, and would not seek to impose it if I had one. But I am asking the members of the newspaper profession and the industry in this country to reexamine their own responsibilities, to consider the degree and the nature of the present danger, and to heed the duty of self-restraint which that danger imposes upon us all.

Every newspaper now asks itself, with respect to every story: "Is it news?" All I suggest is that you add the question: "Is it in the interest of the national security?" And I hope that every group in America--unions and businessmen and public officials at every level-- will ask the same question of their endeavors, and subject their actions to the same exacting tests.

And should the press of America consider and recommend the voluntary assumption of specific new steps or machinery, I can assure you that we will cooperate whole-heartedly with those recommendations.

Perhaps there will be no recommendations. Perhaps there is no answer to the dilemma faced by a free and open society in a cold and secret war. In times of peace, any discussion of this subject, and any action that results, are both painful and without precedent. But this is a time of peace and peril which knows no precedent in history.

II

It is the unprecedented nature of this challenge that also gives rise to your second obligation--an obligation which I share. And that is our obligation to inform and alert the American people--to make certain that they possess all the facts that they need, and understand them as well--the perils, the prospects, the purposes of our program and the choices that we face.

No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.

I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers--I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: "An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them.

Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed--and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And that is why our press was protected by the First Amendment-- the only business in America specifically protected by the Constitution- -not primarily to amuse and entertain, not to emphasize the trivial and the sentimental, not to simply "give the public what it wants"--but to inform, to arouse, to reflect, to state our dangers and our opportunities, to indicate our crises and our choices, to lead, mold, educate and sometimes even anger public opinion.

This means greater coverage and analysis of international news--for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local. It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security--and we intend to do it.

III

It was early in the Seventeenth Century that Francis Bacon remarked on three recent inventions already transforming the world: the compass, gunpowder and the printing press. Now the links between the nations first forged by the compass have made us all citizens of the world, the hopes and threats of one becoming the hopes and threats of us all. In that one world's efforts to live together, the evolution of gunpowder to its ultimate limit has warned mankind of the terrible consequences of failure.

And so it is to the printing press--to the recorder of man's deeds, the keeper of his conscience, the courier of his news--that we look for strength and assistance, confident that with your help man will be what he was born to be: free and independent.

George Provopoulos - Governor of the Bank of Greece Or Bank of Greed?

George Provopoulos, Governor of the Bank of Greece

“He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have.” - Socrates
Bank of Greece governor George Provopoulos was given a severance payment of 3.4 million Euros when he left his former employer Piraeus Bank … a major bank that he now regulates. But he also regulates Emporiki Bank – the black hole that could yet help to blow the French banking system over. He made even more from selling that.

No conflict there then … and of course, no question of the Provo in pursuit of the world’s biggest pension fund before the moussaka hits the fan.

Previously on Banksters, Provopoulos had joined Piraeus Bank on October 18, 2006. As a vice-chairman and managing director, he was entitled to a net salary of 580,000 Euros, plus expenses and a bonus. When he resigned from Piraeus after 19 obviously gruelling months of service, on the day before he left the bank its directors approved a massive severance payment of 2.8 million Euros.

Before joining Piraeus, George was the chief executive at Emporiki Bank. In August, 2006, the French bank Crédit Agricole acquired 67% of its capital. He oversaw the bank’s sale to Créditag, and then left nine weeks later – reputedly some 6 million Euros richer for his efforts – headed for the BoG Governor’s job.

Not surprisingly, the French Credit Agricole chaps are a tad peeved about the conflict of interest involved here. For yer Frenchies – facing mounting losses at Emporiki – say they’d like some help from … the Greek central bank.

But Greek Central Bank governor George Provopoulos seems reluctant to allow this. Between June 2010 and May 2011, Crédit Agricole lodged numerous requests to borrow from the Greek central bank’s Emergency Liquidity Assistance fund. But the Provo says his refusal to let Emporiki borrow is based on its French parent’s “unwillingness to keep lending”.

We are right down there at the bottom of the hypocrisy barrel on this one. And for those of us informed observers of this surreal rape of the system designed to finance capitalism, it remains hard (not to say impossible) to see why the average Greek citizen is being hounded, taxed, demoralised and repressed to atone for the sins of turds like Provopoulos. When they’ve finished squabbling about who picks up the Nobel Dynamite Prize, perhaps the EU commission could take time out to explain this to us. (The Slog)

Review On New Biography of Patrick Leigh Fermor

Robert MacFarlane reviewing Artemis Cooper's new biography of Patrick Leigh Fermor in Saturday's Guardian...

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Patrick Leigh Fermor's legendary life is that it lasted as long as it did. He died in 2011 at the age of 96, having survived enough assaults on his existence to make Rasputin seem like a quitter. He was car-bombed by communists in Greece, knifed in Bulgaria, and pursued by thousands of Wehrmacht troops across Crete after kidnapping the commander of German forces on the island. Malaria, cancer and traffic accidents failed to claim him.

He was the target of a long-standing Cretan blood vendetta, which did not deter him from returning to the island, though assassins waited with rifles and binoculars outside the villages he visited. He was beaten into a bloody mess by a gang of pink-coated Irish huntsmen after he asked if they buggered their foxes. He smoked 80 cigarettes a day for 30 years, and often set his bed-clothes ablaze after falling asleep with a lit fag in hand. He drank epically, and would 'drown hangovers like kittens' in breakfast pints of beer and vodka. As a young SOE agent in Cairo in 1943, the centrepiece of his Christmas lunch was a turkey stuffed with Benzedrine pills; at the age of 69 he swam the Hellespont — and was nearly swept away by the current.

Yes, Leigh Fermor was an insurer's nightmare, an actuary's case-study, and his longevity was preposterous. He might best be imagined as a mixture of Peter Pan, Forrest Gump, James Bond and Thomas Browne. He was elegant as a cat, darkly handsome, unboreable, curious, fearless, fortunate, blessed with a near-eidetic memory, and surely one of the great English prose stylists of his generation.

Fermor wrote two of the last century's outstanding travel books — A Time Of Gifts (1977) and its sequel Between The Woods And The Water (1985) — about a walk he did as a young man from the Hook of Holland to Constantinople. I've read and enjoyed immensely both these books. The final volume of the trilogy will appear posthumously from John Murray next year. I can hardly wait.

Alex Jones - Master Plan to Bring Down America Revealed (VIDEO REPORT)

Pastor Lindsey Williams was a gust on the Alex Jones show on Saturday and he revealed the "Master Plan to Bring Down America". The only thing we do not understand here at Hellasfrappe over this whole "bring America down" conspiracy is: Why didn't they just let the country collapse in 2008 when it would have made perfect sense? Is it because they still need the US military to act as the New World Order's enforcers. When all is said and done, and this is accomplished as well, will the US become toast?

Missing Greek Cables From Wikileaks

wikileaks
wikileaks (Photo credit: Sean MacEntee)

These are some of the missing Greek cables from Wikileaks which were not really posted in the press.Certainly some of these do not satisfy anyone and are not that interesting, nonetheless there are others that are real whoppers!

For instance: What happened with the German submarine deal. What happened with Siemens and ex-Minister Tsochatzopoulos. What was said about the Aegean and what is in store with this area of Greece, or what are the surprises that we have yet to see and learn about.

Some might say that Wikileakes  reveals nothing more than what a common tabloid paper has already, and in some cases this is true, but let us not forget that they have revealed information that has rocked the news world.

In our case, the Syrian files were released including a helluva of Greek corporate names, but where the hell is the proof? This indeed is puzzling. Where are the Alcatel Cables?  Where are the Syrian Assad communication cables with the Italo- Greek communication Services?

Whoever decided to hide those cables he should be considered an accessory to PEACE crimes.

Arms Procurement Plan 2006-2010 approved – Cablegate – 2006: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/08/06ATHENS2031.html
“On July 25, the GoG announced plans to spend an estimated EUR 27 billion for arms procurement over the next decade
The government’s handling of defense procurement, Papoutsis said, increases costs, “mortgages” the future of the welfare state and pushes up the overall defense budget instead of economizing with the view of offering more funds for education, health care, and social security”

Students Protest proposed University Reforms, Shut down Athens Center – Cablegate – 2006: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/06/06ATHENS1507.html
“Many who oppose the amendments have focused on what they call the “commercialization” of the public university education or “surrender of public universities to private interests.
Comment [US]: “We have long pushed for the GoG to recognize degrees from private institutions, which would, among other things, benefit private U.S. higher learning institutions already here"

Government caves to Student Protests, postpones proposed University Reforms – Cablegate – 2006: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/06/06ATHENS1556.html
“In the face of continuing, mass student protests and demonstrations, Education Minister Yiannakou announced on June 13 that she would postpone submitting the draft bill on education reforms during the summer parliament recess as originally planned
Comment [US]: “The government’s postponement in the face of student protests is disappointing to us: a number of U.S.-based private, non-profit universities operating here would benefit from these reforms”

Southern Corridor Energy Conference examines European Energy Security – Cablegate – 2006: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/08/06ATHENS2078.html
“Gazprom’s growing stranglehold on European energy supplies, particularly in the area of natural gas, has the potential to reduce these countries’ diplomatic freedom of movement in support of U.S. diplomatic goals
Improving these countries’ energy security and diversity of supply options can therefore improve U.S. national security.
One key element of this overall strategy is maximizing the opportunity provided by the new Turkey-Greece-Italy natural gas interconnector, currently under construction, to bring Caspian gas to Europe”

The U.S. Strategy:
“All agreed that it is imperative to promote energy diversification strategies that encompass the development of additional energy sources and suppliers to provide vulnerable SE and SCE countries with alternatives to Gazprom
To confront Gazprom domination, there must be a concerted effort to diversify and develop multiple gas pipelines from the Caspian to Europe

“Turkey’s Role — as Transit Country or as Reseller — Must Be Clarified”
“During the conference it became clear that the key problem vis-a-vis Turkey is its aspirations to become an energy reseller, extracting (it hopes) greater profits from gas trade than it would as a simple gas transit country"

“The Russian Strategy: Gazprom”
“Firstly, what kind of a company is Gazprom? According to conference participants, Gazprom's risk-averse business model seeks to consolidate all aspects of gas production, transportation, and delivery into a vertically integrated operation”
Moreover, Gazprom’s predatory behavior towards potential competitors seeks to expand its reach horizontally. The result is the creation of a “super” monopoly
Once the deal is struck, however, Gazprom has been utilizing its market power to extract concessions from the customer, whether in new pricing agreements, increased preferential access to transit capacity, or frequently, in majority or strong minority control of local gas companies”

Putin and Purvanov in Athens: the long Road to Burgas-Alexandroupolis – Cablegate – 2006: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/09/06ATHENS2324.html
“The Burgas-Alexandroupolis Project: “The B-A project was originally conceived in 1994 as a project to relieve tanker traffic through the congested Bosporus strait
The 285-kilometer cross-border pipeline is designed to carry Russian oil from the Bulgarian port of Burgas to the Greek port of Alexandroupolis in northern Greece
The project has an estimated investment cost of 750-800 million US dollars with an annual capacity of 35 million tonnes of oil

Greek PM in Moscow: Rhetoric (Apparently) Unmatched by Deeds – Cablegate – 2007: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2007/12/07ATHENS2375.html

“During a December 17-18 visit to Moscow, Greek PM Karamanlis signed with Russian President Putin and Bulgarian President Parvanov an agreement establishing a company to construct the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline through Bulgaria and Greece”

“We have told the Greeks the U.S. has no problem with better Greek-Russian ties. At the same time, we continue to ask how Greece can reconcile its support for the Turkey-Greece-Italy gas inter-connector with the competing South Stream project — a question to which we have yet to receive an adequate reply”

P.M. Karamanlis Trip to Russia: Energy – Cablegate – 2008: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2008/04/08ATHENS598.html

“The IGA, he said, includes provisions that: an international holding company (Societe Anonyme) will be established for the portion of South Stream that passes through Greek territory, jointly and equally owned by Gazprom and the Greek Pipeline Transmission Operator (DESFA)”

Energy: Greeks see Baku ready to Cooperate, Ankara standing in the Way – Cablegate – 2008: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2008/03/08ATHENS438.html
“Minister of Development Folias told the Ambassador he had found a spirit of “excellent cooperation” in Baku during his March 17 trip there
He noted that “The Azeris are as keen to work with us as we are with them. Moreover, they have a huge supply of gas.
Folias said Azerbaijani officials had told him that the country had gas for 100 – 200 years, and that it had extracted 28 bcm of gas this year alone”

TFGG01: Greece’s Business-as-Usual with Russia undermines strong NATO Statements – Cablegate – 2008: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2008/08/08ATHENS1216.html
“Despite strong statements at NATO and the EU by FM Bakoyannis supporting Georgian territorial integrity and condemning Russia’s recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states, the GOG at the same time is moving ahead with several “business-as-usual” events with Russia, including a visit this week of a Russian defense industry team to discuss arms purchases, the impending Parliamentary ratification of the South Stream gas pipeline deal with Russia, and co-sponsorship with Russia of a major cultural event marking 180 years of Greek-Russian diplomatic relations

Embassy will continue to press the GOG to delay or cancel these events to avoid undercutting NATO and EU positions”

U.S./Greece Mil-to-Mil Cooperation: the Good, the Bad, and the Necessary – Cablegate – 2008: http://wikileaks.org/cable/2008/06/08ATHENS896.html

Slavoj Žižek And His Book "The Year of Dreaming Dangerously"

The Year of Dreaming Dangerously
By Slavoj Žižek
Verso Books & Google Books

Call it the year of dreaming dangerously: 2011 caught the world off guard with a series of shattering events. While protesters in New York, Cairo, London, and Athens took to the streets in pursuit of emancipation, obscure destructive fantasies inspired the world’s racist populists in places as far apart as Hungary and Arizona, achieving a horrific consummation in the actions of mass murderer Anders Breivik. The subterranean work of dissatisfaction continues. Rage is building, and a new wave of revolts and disturbances will follow. Why? Because the events of 2011 augur a new political reality. These are limited, distorted—sometimes even perverted—fragments of a utopian future lying dormant in the present.

Exclusive final chapter from Žižek’s new book, The years of dreaming dangerously

So where do we stand now, in 2012/ 2011 was the year of dreaming dangerously, of the revival of radical emancipatory politics all around the world. Now, a year later, every day brings new proofs of how fragile and inconsistent the awakening was, with all of its many facets displaying the same signs of exhaustion: the enthusiasm of the Arab Spring is mired in compromises and religious fundamentalism; the OWS is losing momentum to such an extent that, in a nice case of the “cunning of reason,” the police cleansing of Zuchotti Park and other sites of the OWS protests cannot but appear as a blessing in disguise, covering up the immanent loss of momentum. And the same story goes on all around the world: the Maoists in Nepal seem outmaneuvered by the reactionary royalist forces; Venezuela’s “Bolivarian” experiment more and more regressing into a caudillo-run populism… What are we to do in such depressive times when dreams seem to fade away? Is the only choice we have the one between nostalgic-narcissistic remembrance of the sublime enthusiastic moments, and the cynically-realist explanation of why the attempts to really change the situation had to fail?

The first thing to state is that the subterranean work of dissatisfaction is going on: rage is accumulating and a new wave of revolts will follow. The weird and unnatural relative calm of the Spring of 2012 is more and more perforated by the growing subterranean tensions announcing new explosions; what makes the situation so ominous is the all-pervasive sense of blockage: there no clear way out, the ruling elite is clearly losing its ability to rule. What makes the situation even more disturbing is the obvious fact that democracy doesn’t work: after elections in Greece and in Spain, the same frustrations remain. How should we read the signs of this rage? In his Arcades Project, Walter Benjamin quotes the French historian André Monglond: “The past has left images of itself in literary texts, images comparable to those which are imprinted by light on a photosensitive plate. The future alone possesses developers active enough to scan such surfaces perfectly.” Events like the OWS protests, the Arab Spring, demonstrations in Greece and Spain, etc., have to be read as such signs from the future. In other words, we should turn around the usual historicist perspective of understanding an event out of its context and genesis. Radical emancipatory outburst cannot be understood in this way: instead of analyzing them as a part of the continuum of past/present, we should bring in the perspective of the future, i.e., we should analyze them as limited, distorted (sometimes even perverted) fragments of a utopian future which lies dormant in the present as its hidden potential. According to Deleuze, in Proust, “people and things occupy a place in time which is incommensurable with the one that they have in space”: the notorious madeleine is here in place, but this is not its true time. In a similar way, one should learn the art to recognize, from an engaged subjective position, elements which are here, in our space, but whose time is the emancipated future, the future of the Communist Idea.

However, while one should learn to watch for such signs from the future, we should also be aware that what we are doing now will only become readable once the future will be here, so we should not put too much hopes into the desperate search for the “germs of Communism” in today’s society. One should thus strive for a delicate balance between reading signs from the (hypothetic Communist) future and maintaining the radical openness of the future: openness alone ends up in decisionist nihilism which constrains us to leaps into the void, while full reliance on the signs from the future can succumb to determinist planning (we know what the future should look like and, from a position of meta-language, somehow exempted from history, we just have to enact it). However, the balance one should strive for has nothing to do with some kind of wise “middle road” avoiding both extremes (“we know in a general sense the shape of the future we are moving towards, but we should simultaneously remain open to unpredictable contingencies”). Signs from the future are not constitutive but regulative in the Kantian sense; their status is subjectively mediated, i.e., they are not discernible from any neutral “objective” study of history, but only from an engaged position—following them remains an existential wager in Pascal’s sense. We are dealing here with the circular structure best exemplified by a science-fiction story set a couple of hundred years ahead of our time when time travel was already possible, about an art critic who gets so fascinated by the works of a New York painter from our era that he travels back in time to meet him; he discovers that the painter is a worthless drunk who even steals from him the time machine and escapes to the future; alone in today’s world, the art critic paints all the paintings that fascinated him in the future and made him travel into the past. In a homologous way, the Communist signs from the future are signs from a possible future which will become actual only if we follow these signs—in other words, they are signs which paradoxically precede that of which they are signs. Recall the Pascalean topic of deus absconditus, of a “hidden god” discernible only to those who search for him, who are engaged in the path of this search:

“God has willed to redeem men and to open salvation to those who seek it. But men render themselves so unworthy of it that it is right that God should refuse to some, because of their obduracy, what He grants others from a compassion which is not due to them. If He had willed to overcome the obstinacy of the most hardened, He could have done so by revealing Himself so manifestly to them that they could not have doubted of the truth of His essence; as it will appear at the last day, with such thunders and such a convulsion of nature that the dead will rise again, and the blindest will see Him. It is not in this manner that He has willed to appear in His advent of mercy, because, as so many make themselves unworthy of His mercy, He has willed to leave them in the loss of the good which they do not want. It was not, then, right that He should appear in a manner manifestly divine, and completely capable of convincing all men; but it was also not right that He should come in so hidden a manner that He could not be known by those who should sincerely seek Him. He has willed to make himself quite recognizable by those; and thus, willing to appear openly to those who seek Him with all their heart, and to be hidden from those who flee from Him with all their heart. He so regulates the knowledge of Himself that He has given signs of Himself, visible to those who seek Him, and not to those who seek Him not. There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those who have a contrary disposition.”

God gives these signs in the guise of miracles, and this is why the same mixture of light and obscurity characterizes miracles: miracles are not visible as such to everyone, but only to believers—skeptical non-believers (to whom Pascal refers as “libertins,” in a typical 17th century way, as opposed to the 18th century predominant meaning of debauchery) can easily dismiss them as natural phenomena, and those who believe in them as victims of superstition. Pascal thus openly admits a kind of hermeneutic circle in the guise of the mutual interdependence of miracles and “doctrine” (the church teaching): “Rule: we must judge of doctrine by miracles; we must judge of miracles by doctrine. All this is true, but contains no contradiction.” Perhaps, one can apply here Kant’s formula of the relationship between reason and (sensuous) intuition: doctrine without miracles is sterile and impotent, miracles without doctrine are blind and meaningless. Their mutual independence is thus not symmetrical: “Miracles are for doctrine, and not doctrine for miracles.” In Badiou’s terms, miracle is Pascal’s name for an Event, an intrusion of the impossible-Real into our ordinary reality which momentarily suspends its causal nexus; however, it is only an engaged subjective position, a subject who “desires to see,” which can truly identify a miracle.

Business defections hit Greece amid recovery effort

Channel News Asia

Efforts to restore investor confidence in Greece's struggling economy took a double blow this week when a major European bottler and a prominent dairy company announced relocation plans. Coca-Cola's second biggest bottler worldwide, Athens-based Coca-Cola Hellenic (CCHBC), on Thursday said it was moving its headquarters to Switzerland and looking to establish a listing on the London stock exchange.

This followed an announcement by Fage, one of the country's main dairy producers and a major exporter, that it was moving its headquarters to Luxembourg "to better reflect the increasingly global nature" of its activities.

Greek companies have been relocating to lower-cost neighbouring markets such as Bulgaria for years, a process accelerated by wave-upon-wave of austerity cuts and sales tax hikes over the past two years that have felled consumer demand.

But in a week when German Chancellor Angela Merkel was in Athens pledging to support growth initiatives in return for further budget savings, the news wreaked havoc in Greece.

"I cannot tell each and every company how to act, nor can I impose police measures to influence strategic decisions made by companies," Greece's normally mild-mannered Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis told reporters.

"The climate has markedly changed compared to the past. I will not say it's all gardens of roses ahead of us...but if we can cover this final stretch, and with (EU) support, companies will not leave and others will start returning to the country," the minister argued.

Hatzidakis has spearheaded efforts to get money pumping back into the country in the form of loans from the European Investment Bank.

The EIB is to release some 1.44 billion euros (US$1.86 billion) by 2015 to support projects that have ground to a halt such as highway construction.

The money will partly cover debts owed by the Greek government to the private sector, now estimated at around eight billion euros.

"In conjunction with austerity measures and structural reforms, which demand a great deal from the people, there must also be growth stimulus," Merkel told reporters this week after talks with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

"Therefore, we will support everything possible to provide Greece access to credit from the European Investment Bank," she said.

With a sixth year of recession in sight and with little hope of winning a decades-long battle against red tape, Greece has laboured to attract investors even in the midst of an unprecedented privatisation drive.

Under the terms of its EU-IMF loan rescue, the country is obliged to offload some 19 billion euros (US$24.5 billion) in state assets by 2015 but has so far managed around a tenth of that total.

Forced to take part in a state debt rollover, Greek banks have slowed business loans to a trickle.

And there was speculation earlier this year, during a Greek political deadlock that took two elections to produce a workable government, that the country could even be forced to leave the euro.

French supermarket giant Carrefour and banks Credit Agricole and Societe Generale have all recently taken steps to extricate themselves from Greece as well.

These are precautions not unrelated to so-called 'Grexit' fears, concern that Greece may return to a devalued Drachma, rating agency Fitch said in a Friday note with respect to Coca-Cola's move.

But it added that what CCHBC and Fage did were "limited precedents" for other eurozone corporates for now, "despite incentives to ... protect against the risk of a full-blown sovereign crisis."

Both Coca-Cola Hellenic and Fage claimed they were not abandoning Greece.

"We are a Greek multinational company having its headquarters in Switzerland," CCHBC chief executive Dimitris Lois said in a conference call.

"Having a new headquarters in Switzerland will provide stability that will be evaluated by credit agencies...more stability, that's what we are looking forward to," he added.

CCHBC said the move would also improve access to equity and debt capital markets and increase its flexibility in raising new funds.

500 million Euro Shortfall - Banks Against Giving Back To The State

A new 'black hole' of 500 million euros turned up during the government's financial staff's meeting with the European Commission (EC), European Central Bank (ECB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Troika, after which the country's international lenders asked that this shortfall be covered through either a new extraordinary contribution or application as of this year of the cuts in holiday benefits to civil service employees and pensioners.

One report from the state news agency said that the shortfall concerns the obligation of domestic banking institutions to return this year to the state the sum of 500 million euros. The sum must be returned in the form of dividends and concerns the state reinforcement, through preferential shares, that the banks had received in 2008.

Financial staff sources said that the Troika heads asked that the 500 million euros not be returned to the state, which drew reactions from finance minister Yannis Stournaras and alternate minister Christos Staikouras, who argued that this money represented revenues included in the 2012 budget. Indeed, on September 7, Staikouras, in a letter to central Bank of Greece (BoG) governor George Provopoulos and chairman of the Hellenic Banking Association George Zanias, had asked for the payment of the 500 million euros by the banks.

The Troika initially responded to the Greek objections by proposing that either a new extraordinary contribution be imposed or that the holiday benefits of the civil servants and pensioners be effective as of this year, so as to cover the 'black hole' with an immediate fiscal yield. The Troika proposals were rejected by the Greek side, after which the Troika counter-proposed either a new cutback in salaries or the imposition of an extraordinary contribution on banking employees. The counter-proposal was also rejected by the financial staff, and remains open.

While commenting on objections raised by the EU-IMF troika to a sum of 555 million euro to be paid back by banks under a law passed in 2008 for money put up by the state as guarantees during the credit crisis, PASOK party press spokeswoman Fofi Gennimata described it as being "inconceivable".

On its part DHMAR or the Democratic Left party, termed it as politically and morally unacceptable.

The Greek Communist Party or KKE, on the other noted that "the public debt, which was the cause that led to the imposition of the memorandums and to the people shouldering the consequences of the capitalist crisis, was inflated by the tens and hundreds of billions of euros that ended up in different sections of plutocracy".

As for the other open issues in the negotiation of the package of 13.9 billion euros, sources said the discussion is focusing chiefly on the measures for 2014, with the Troika insisting on 9 billion euros in measures for 2013 and the financial staff saying it was trying not to diverge greatly from the 7.8 billion euros foreseen by the budget in additional measures for 2013.

New Public Opinion Poll Suggests Clear Lead For SYRIZA

The European Union may have just won the Nobel Peace Prize, but peace is the last thing the Sprouts of Brussels are bringing to Greece. Forcing Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to knuckle under on the question of austerity has pulled the rug from under leading rightist Party New Democracy, while previously the Berlin-am-Brussels bullying of (George) Papandreou neutered the appeal of leftist PASOK. Since then, new PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos has destroyed the Party’s credibility by openly scheming against Samaras … and then being revealed as the main villain in the Lagarde List scandal.

A new opinion poll on Friday suggested a clear lead for SYRIZA, the Left Party headed by the increasingly persuasive Alexis Tsipras. In just four weeks, New Democracy’s popularity has fallen 10%, while net, SYRIZA has the biggest share of voting intentions by some 15%. Over the same period, PASOK fell back a further 9%, to the point where an election tomorrow would render it a minority Party on a level with the neo-fascist Golden Dawn.

This is bound to concentrate Nordeurop minds when it comes to Merkel’s inflexible austerity drive. One of two things will happen: either a drive to amputate Greece from the eurozone body will gather speed, or more calm minds will prevail … and realise that the Greek State needs to be cut some slack.

Two months ago the belief that the Merke-schäuble strategy was to frighten the Greeks via the German media, and then follow the stick with a disguised carrot was reaffirmed. But like so many well-laid plans, this one has gone awry. A combination of other alternatives for Athens (plus the German tabloid frenzy getting out of hand) led to the situation we saw earlier last week, when Chancellor Merkel had to be practically smuggled in and out of Greece.

The Troika approach in Southern Europe is having one overriding effect: to produce desperation – and therefore act as a catalyst in the Germination of that very Nazi V Communist confrontation the Germans themselves genuinely fear … and the EU was allegedly formed to banish forever from the European political landscape.

Instability in a social, political and economic sense has now reached frightening proportions in the Hellenic Republic.

One very important clue from the new poll was that 70% believe there will be early elections again.

Meanwhile, well-sourced feedback from Greece told the Slog that PASOK is internally riven. A regular Party informant asserts: “It’s a boiling cauldron as we say in Greece. There are many inside PASOK that want Venizelos out. And Venizelos predecessor George Papakonstantinou has gone AWOL despite the fact that he has been called by the special prosecutor to testify about the Lagarde List. He is in the US – but when officers from the prosecutor’s office tried to find him, he did not return their calls.”

JUST FOR LAUGHS - A new joke is doing the rounds in the UK: There is panic in Oslo as adjudicators fear that Venizelos has eaten the Nobel Peace Pies. (The Slog)

Elder Paisios: "When you hear about 12 miles... get ready"

"When, you hear on TV about extending the miles (or Greece's territorial waters) from 6 to 12 miles, then war will follow." This is what Elder Paisios told pilgrims when they asked him over 15 years ago what to expect in the future with neighboring Turkey. You will recall that in 1996 when people heard the phrase extension of territorial waters from six to 12 miles we were suddenly hit with the Imia crisis. Recently we heard the term again, but this time from the mouth of Turkish Foreign Minister A. Davutoglu. What should we expect now?

Indeed the Elder warned us to "prepare". So prophesies and predictions aside, the question remains, is Greece ready for whatever challenge comes from the east if it does extend its territorial waters? This we do cannot answer, but what we do know for a fact is that the Greek government is going to declare its EEZ by the end of 2012.

This was revealed in a state radio interview by geopolitical analyst and EEZ expert Nikos Lygeros.

Lygeros claims that Turkey will use many types of propaganda and dilemmas in order to fight this from occurring. He says that in accordance to international laws and treaties, Greece will and must delineate its territorial waters and proclaim its EEZ, while he specifically reveals that this will happen by the end of 2012.  (Below is the radio interview)
