The Greek Public Power Company (DEH or PPC) is apparently planning to hike our electricity bills so that it can hand out grants of 330,000 euros to athletic clubs. In a letter dated May 24, 2012, the public power company decided to make a 330,000 euros donation to the Kimi Athletics Club for the 2012-2014 period. During a time when hundreds of homes throughout the country are in total darkness because of the outrageous hikes that have already been added to electricity bills, the PPC company appears to be generous to a particular sports club for no apparent reason, an article in the Sunday edition of "Real News" (newspaper) said. The news which screams out SCANDAL revealed that the Greek Public Power Company has not paid the municipality its dues for operating a power plant there (or the invoices for sanitation) but it suddenly and out of the blue decided to find a generous donation for a nearby athletics club, said the Sunday newspaper.
