Slavoj Zizek Invited To Speak At SYRIZA Discussion (VIDEO REPORT)

Slavoj Zizek, a well-known Slovenian philosopher and contemporary thinker was invited to speak at a discussion on Sunday titled "The heart of the people of Europe beats in Greece" which was hosted by the Radical Left Party (SYRIZA). Zizek spoke about the modern state of Europe, the overthrow of the neo-liberal policies which he says generates the crisis, exacerbates the recession and imposes austerity, and that leads to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis. He said that the Greeks are not passive victims and are presently at war with the European economic establishment. He added that they need the world's solidarity because "the struggle of the Greeks is the struggle of us all."

Editor's Note - Mr. Zizek is indeed very charming, and witty and we adore his accent, but we do not agree with all of his his views, especially those which concern patriotism, nationalism, the subject of illegal immigration, and overall social change. He has suspiciously advocated for the rights of illegal immigrants many times in the past in many of his speeches and he indirectly spoke about this yesterday since he said that the new Europe that will rise after this crisis will be a continent with "Asian Values". This we found very disturbing and as we said earlier very suspicious. If he supports the rights of illegal immigrants so much, or better yet the islamitization of Europe then he should invite all these so called illegal immigrants from the East and Asian ideals to his country. At some other point he also said that our critics hate us. We respect his simplistic logic, but we do not believe that our critics hate us, (meaning our European partners) we rather believe that they simply do not understand us.
