Samaras Gives Live Interview To G.Aftias On SKAI

Leader of the New Democracy party Antonis Samaras gave a very interesting interview to George Aftias on his Sunday morning news talk show. He spoke about the economy, the upcoming elections, the changes that are needed in the Greek Constitution and that will not permit MPs to become Ministers, how he plans to structure a small and flexible government, the issue of illegal immigration, the rise in crime as well as the delineation of Greece's EEZ.

Samaras said that the only thing that can jump start the economy is a solid development plan. He also said that he is going to establish a Ministry of Commercial Shipping to strengthen Greece's position even more in this global industry.

On the issue of illegal immigration Samaras pledged to get rid of a law that was adopted under the G.Papandreou government (escalating the problem and calling for the legalization of these immigrants). In such a framework, Samaras said massive deportations will start from day one. He also said that he will work with other southern European countries in order to combat this problem.

Samaras also spoke about the delineation of Greece's EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone). "If Greece does indeed have, what we suspect it to have, then it will stand as Europe's largest energy supplier," he said.
