A tragedy unfolded in the northern city of Thessaloniki (Oreokastro) on Friday when Athanasios Kamaris, an unemployed 55 year-old-man, entered the home of his brother-in-law and murdered him along with his wife and 12 year-old-child.
There are many speculations that the motive behind this brutal murdering spree was about money because the brother-in-law was an OPAP agency (betting agency) owner.
Kamaris, who sometimes worked as a taxi driver, armed himself with a pistol and knife and then invaded the home of his now deceased sister Alexandra.
The Greek press claims that he massacred the whole family in an unprecedented display of savagery and once he realized his actions he attempted to end his life twice but failed in both attempts.
