Gov't To Launch Tender In Early July For Hydrocarbon Exploration in Ionian

Greece's Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Changeon Wednesday announced that it will proclaim an international tender for hydrocarbon exploration concessions in the Ionian Sea and south of Crete will be launched in early July.

The features of the areas involved, based on seismic survey data collected by PGS last year, are going to be presented to oil companies at a special conference in London on July 1-2 titled “Western Greece and South Crete: A new area for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the heart of the Mediterranean”.

According to press reports, the areas that are expected to be presented by Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister Yiannis Maniatis, who is scheduled to outline the government’s strategic plan for developing Greece’s hydrocarbon potential and also have individual meetings with company representatives and investors to answer any questions.
