A fire was reported to have occurred at the summer home of former PASOK leader and ex-prime minister Costas Simitis. Initial reports claim that the fire, at Simitis' summer home in Agoi Theodori, Corinth, which began shortly after 2am Friday morning, was caused by arson.

The same reports also note that an incendiary device was discovered at the site.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control very quickly and following this the anti terrorism unit began investigating the scene.

Simitis, who resides in the center of Athens, was prime minister of Greece between 1996-2004.
