Specifically, the rift broke out when a SYRIZA MP accused Golden Dawn of terrorizing citizens via their telephone in Parliament ahead of a festival in Kalamata on August 3 and 4. This angered the ultranationalists who revealed that the telephone call was made to a well known anarchist (and terrorism) website.
It all began when SYRIZA MP Thanasis Petrakos claimed that Golden Dawn deputies were using the party’s parliamentary office to telephone and intimidate anti-fascist campaigners in Kalamata who want to prevent the festival from taking place.
(In other words, SYRIZA was defending demonstrators who were planning to protest against the festival which was being supported by Golden Dawn.)
Immediately correcting him, Golden Dawn MP Dimitris Koukoutsis took the podium and clarified that the phone call that was placed from its parliamentary office was to Inymedia.
(For those who are not aware, Indymedia is a well-known site that is 100 percent supported by none other than George Soros and the primary source of information for the anarchist movement.)
As such, Koukoutsis accused SYRIZA of being “hooded murderers” that support movements that burn down Athens. In such an environment, he then referred to the battles at Mount Vitsi and Mount Grammos in 1949 which led to national forces
overcoming Communist resistance and bringing the Civil War to an end.
“At Vitsi and Grammos, we buried you in the sand,” Koukoutsis told SYRIZA MPs.The Golden Dawn deputies then left the debating chamber, walking past the SYRIZA benches and swearing at the leftist lawmakers. They also offered to fight the SYRIZA deputies outside.
On its part the government labeled the incident as “unacceptable and condemnable.”
Whatever the case, Golden Dawn rightfully slammed SYRIZA in this case. Anyone who messes with George Soros and Indymedia only supports anarchy, chaos and hooligans!
