Why Not A Traditional Christmas At Meteora? (VIDEO)




If you plan to take a trip this holiday season while in Greece consider the area of Meteora for your vacation. Lying at the feet of the monastery area is the town of Kalambaka, which is a very popular winter destination, and offers all the comforts to suit your needs. The area is ideal for excursions through scenic natural routes and of course the scenery is breathtaking.While there, consider visiting the monasteries as well, especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The monastery complex at Meteora, is planning to celebrate Christmas with a service that begins around 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and concludes early on Christmas Day. Meteora, on UNESCO's World Heritage List, is the second largest monastic community in Greece after Mt. Athos.
