A poll conducted by ALCO on behalf of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEA) revealed on Thursday that at least seven out of ten Greeks are pessimistic about the Greek economy. In terms of personal finances, some 76 percent of those asked said they were pessimistic while 17 percent noted that they were optimistic.
In EBEA's sixth and last report for 2012, conducted over the phone between the period December 14-19 with 1,000 people, 75 percent said they were in support of remaining in the Eurozone, while only 17 percent said they wanted out. A mere 8 percent declined to answer.
Asked about improving the efficiency of the civil sector, 6 in 10 believe that it can greatly improve, and 24 percent supports a reduction in state workers.
