Samaras: I hope Tsipras will change his mind

Leader of the New Democracy party, Antonis Samaras, on Wednesday made a plea to the Greek people and all the forces of the center-right in or outside parliament in order, as he said, for Greece's course in Europe to be safeguarded and the economic policy to be changed.

Addressing ND's Executive Secretariat, Samaras stressed that "before the elections we had warned of the danger of lack of governance and now are doing our best to prevent it, we are doing whatever possible to restore the governmental stability".

Samaras opined that an agreed amendment of some articles of the loan agreement is one thing and a unilateral denouncement of it is something else that leads with certainty to disaster. "I hope that Mr. Tsipras will come to his senses by our meeting this afternoon. If not, then it will mean that he is trying to create an anti-Europe front.
