Nia Vardalos returns to her home town of Winnipeg for Greek event

Winnipeg-born actress Nia Vardalos (centre) attended the opening night of Folklorama's Greek Pavilion in her home town at the weekend. The Folklorama event got off to a roaring start as the 42nd annual multicultural festival is designed to entertain and educate thousands of visitors over the span of 14 days. On Sunday evening, Nia Vardalos made a guest appearance at the Greek Pavilion at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, noting that she tied the knot at the venue to fellow actor Ian Gomez. The Greek-Canadian actress took time to pose for photos with the many fans who asked before leaving. She’s currently in the city filming on the set of “American Girl.”
