Greek festival in Astoria

The Greek Cultural Centre in Astoria, New York is scheduled to pay tribute to two legends of the Greek cinema, actor Thanassis Veggos and stage and film director Elia Kazan the state news agency said. The event is within the framework of the annual Greek Film Festival that opens on July 29 and runs until September 4. Screenings are set to take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The last day of the festival is to be dedicated to Greek-American filmmakers. Admission is free.
