Dance the Zorba till you drop all for a Guinness record! (VIDEOS)

Dancers on the island of Rhodes will attempt to earn a place in the Guinness Book of  World Records on July 31st, by dancing the Greek dance syrtaki, from the world-renowned 1964 movie Zorba the Greek by Michalis Kakogiannis. The dance, and the accompanying music by Míkis Theodorakis, are also called Zorbá's dance or Zorbas. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the dancers will have to perform in synchronized step for the attempt to qualify. The largest syrtaki dance was achieved by 1,672 participants in an event organised by Brand Fuel, in Rhodes, on 3 September 2008. The music from the movie, is without a doubt characteristic of Greece and recognized world wide. During the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens it was played quite often to lively up the audiences that were present to cheer on for their favorite athletes. The video below is indicative of this... watch the reaction of the crowd when the music begins to play... its priceless! Also... watch the video right after that with the London orchestra playing the same tune for the Brits.... Its true what they say... music brings people together!!!!
