SYRIZA MP Dimitris Papadimoulis characterized it as a "blow to democracy" and he wrote on his Twitter account that the attack "feeds fascism, it does not beat it."
On his part, Minister of Public Order Nikos Dendias said that justice will prevail and he is not going to allow Greece to become "any one's battlefield for settling scores."
In an announcement, the Golden Dawn party said it asked for police protection at its offices after receiving threats, and they blamed the government of Antonis Samaras for the crime, which, they note allowed out of control terrorists to murder young boys in cold blood.

UPDATE 2. According to SKAI television, a video was shot during the attack and this footage is now in the hands of authorities. The same report at 21:00 said that two 9-milimeter rifles were used in the attack, and 15 bullets have been identified. The two men apparently got off their bike and then began to shoot at a gathering of Golden Dawn members who were getting ready to attend an event at the party's offices. As shocking as this may sound, after shooting at the victims, the two men walked over to their victims and shot them again. Moreover, the same reporter said that police authorities were able to get some information about the culprits from one of the victims just before he passed away. The third victim, 29, who is presently battling for his life, is a father of a newborn. Finally, it was also reported that the motorcycle used in the attack was found in the area of Markopoulo, but there was another report about an abandoned bike nearly three blocks away.

UPDATE 1: According to MEGA channel the shooting was a professional hit, because the victims were shot in the head and in the chest. Also, one reporter said that an ouzi, a Scorpio rifle, or even a 9-millimeter rifle may have been used during the shooting, and noted that this is a common weapon used in terrorist attacks.

According to reports, two unknown men on a motorcycle opened fire outside the offices of the Golden Dawn party in Neo Heraklion (northern Athens) at around 19:00 on Friday evening. As a result, two men aged 21 and 26 were apparently murdered during the shooting, while a third victim was rushed to the Gennimatas hospital. All the victims, according to the same reports, were members of the Golden Dawn party.
At the present moment, authorities have sealed off the area, and the counter terrorism squad is conducting a thorough investigation, and from what is being reported, this was a direct terrorist attack.
