Nonetheless several news reports are beginning to point out that the explosion could be a terrorist plot. According to these reports, police officials at first believed that her car may have been attacked by present and/or former prisoners and/or criminals, however, they quickly ignored this idea because the evidence that surfaced revealed that it might just be a terrorist attack. One of the reasons for this, said one report on defencenet, is because about 20 minutes before the blast, two warning calls were made about the explosion: one to the ANT1 television station and the other to the zoogla.gr new site.
Despite a quick mobilization from the police, the bomb was unfortunately detonated. As a result of the blast, the automobile was totally destroyed and engulfed in flames, while the blast also caused damages to the surrounding buildings, homes, etc.. A 50-year-old woman suffered minor injuries from the explosion.
Some officials, according to defencenet, also believe that the terrorist organization "Cells of Fire" (Pirines Tis Fotias) is behind the attack and this would kind of explain why the anti-terrorism squad was called to the scene so quickly. Quite interestingly, the site notes that there are similarities between the blast in Korydallos with a bomb blast at the Mall Shopping Center several months ago.
