On the issue of the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate, Tsipras said that a 23 percent rate on restaurants is outrageous and referred to the need for the small and medium sized enterprises to be supported, as well as for the implementation of a more just tax system.
We agree with him on this one, but Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has already left it to be understood that this tax rate will drop within the next few months.
We also agree with what Tsipras said about Greece's three most powerful industries, or shipping, tourism and exports, but we find these generalizations.
We also disagree with his views about Greece's EEZ and find it very suspicious that he is attempting to downplay the kind of benefits that hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation can have in our country.
We also wonder what type of growth he is referring to when he is against private investment and in favor of nationalizing everything.
