TRAGIC- PASOK Supporters Warmly Welcome Papandreou To Party Conference

Believe it or not folks there are still devoted supporters who want George Papandreou to come back to power. In fact only one year after his dramatic downfall, there are still some buffoons in Greece that believe he saved Greece! In fact they have a worship-like attitude towards him. Such was the case at the weekend when Papandreou decided to make an appearance at the proceedings of the 9th Congress of Structural Movement.

With slogans such as "Papandreou - Papandreou", or "PASOK is 'here, united, strong" and (our personal favorite which literally makes one burst into laughter) "there he is, there he is, the prime minister," the friends and members of PASOK (or delegates) greeted the former PM.

According to an article in the Greek daily "To Ethnos", Papandreou wanted to make a grand entrance so at 18:15 he entered the Friendship and Peace stadium when the present leader, Evangelos Venizelos, was mysteriously not there at the moment. Because of the raucus, former Minister Pavlos Geroulanos, was forced to delay the start of his speech.
