Papandreou's "Orphans" Look Towards SYRIZA

Former PASOK MPs who either objected to the Memorandums and.or provoked their dismissal from the socialist party are now looking to SYRIZA. Funny enough (and suspicious we might add) is the fact that these particular MPs were part of Geroge Papandreou's team. According to an article in the Sunday edition of "To Ethnos", leading the way is former PASOK Minister Gerasimos Arsenis (the husband of Louka Katseli) who allowed the participants of a recent seminar that was organized by the Institute for Policy Research and Strategy in New York to understand that he together with many other former PASOK MPs (or only those who supported George Papandreou) are now looking to join SYRIZA.

As such former PASOK MPs and Ministers such as Louka Katseli Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou and Harris Kastanidis, former Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis and former MP, Lambros Michos are now openly flirting with the SYRIZA party only confirming all the reports in Greece which claim that the main opposition party is nothing more than a knock off of the Papandreou government.

It needs to be noted that SYRIZA has been flirting with these MPs for quite a while now but because it does not want to openly show that it is indirectly supporting George Papandreou's old team it has not formally approached the ex MPs (aside from a few handshakes that is). Nonetheless one can assume that it is ready to do so since all of SYRIZA's economic team attended the New York event.
