The Greek State dismissed claims in the Turkish media that the government has closed down two Kurdish terrorist training camps near Athens following talks between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan last week. At the same time it characterized these claims as as “groundless" and a product of Turkish imagination!
“The Turkish newspapers’ claims are groundless and a product of the imagination,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Grigoris Delavekouras said in a statement at the weekend.
“Terrorist training camps never opened or existed in Lavrio or anywhere else in Greece, so they can’t have been closed. It seems that there are those in Turkey who are irritated by the clear positions and good climate in Greek-Turkish relations evident from the joint press conference of the two Prime Ministers.”
