Weapons Cache Discovered Off Of Peloponnese Coast

Police officials at the weekend discovered an unknown amount of weapons from the bottom of the sea, just off the coast of Kynouria, which is a port town in the Peloponnesian region of Arcadia. The weapons cache was spotted by a local resident who immediately notified the Coast Guard.

According to press reports in Athens, the items that were brought to the surface included a Lanchester MK1 sub machine gun, a .357 Magnum revolver and an unknown amount of various types of bullets.

At present, authorities are conducting forensic tests on the retrieved items. Apparently they want to determine where the weapons came from and if they have been used in a crime.
