In a report earlier this week, the Daily Mail claimed that scientists have identified the location of The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The gardens are the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World for which no archaeological evidence has ever been found.

According to the report, the historians believed for centuries that the Hanging Gardens were built in Babylon,in Iraq, by Emperor Nebuchadnezzar, and a closer analysis of these ancient texts have led  researchers to believe it was actually built 350 miles away in the city of  Nineveh, again in Iraq, by Assyrian King Sennacherib.

The Daily Mail’s article is based on a Channel 4 documentary called Finding Babylon’s Hanging Garden, in which Oxford University academic, Dr Stephanie Dalley describes where she believes to be the ruins to be.
