The Greek parliament endorsed a draft bill on new investment tools to facilitate economic growth in parliament on late Wednesday evening. However, following pressure by the opposition and government minor partners, the alternate minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras, announced the withdrawal of two controversial articles in the bill, articles 22 and 24. Also withdrawn from the bill was an amendment to the tertiary education restructuring plan "Athena", which however is going to be included in another draft bill by the Education Ministry.
