Aegean To Launch Direct Alexandroupolis, St. Petersburg Flights On May 31

A new itinerary of Aegean Airlines linking the northern city of Alexandroupolis with St. Petersburg, Russia, is set to be inaugurated on May 31. As such a meeting was held between locals in Thrace in how to best prepare the region, tourism agencies and all services for the tourist arrivals.

  "There will be more charter flights from other areas to our prefecture," vice-prefect Giorgos Geromarkos said, "that is why we are trying to improve results...There is optimism that organised tours are going to arrive from St. Petersburg, as data so far is encouraging."

Editor's Note - Indeed they are encouraging. And they are a nice message to our neighbors across the Aegean that all the monkey business in Thrace is about to end.
