The Central Council of the European Party (EVROKO) decided, on Wednesday evening, to support Nicos Anastasiades in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday. The Central Council approved by 304 votes in favour, 2 against and 2 abstentions the Executive Bureau's proposal to support Nicos Anastasiades, President of the right wing Democratic Rally (DISY) party. In statements after the decision was taken, party spokesman Michalis Giorgallas said that officials who had supported either Anastasiades or Giorgos Lillikas, who ran as an independent in the first round of elections, approved the proposal.
