From the 33 MPs it held in the Parliament, PASOK now only has 27 members, and it has fallen lower than 5.5 percent in polls.
“My opposition to the budget is fundamental,” Androulakis told radio station Vima FM without explaining why he voted for in favor of the third memorandum nor why he’s changed his mind again. He is now going to join other ousted members from New Democracy and PASOK in becoming an independent MP.
And if that wasn't enough, PASOK veteran and former minister, Andreas Loverdos, who is seen as a challenger to Venizelos, and who voted for the austerity measures, called for an urgent meeting of the party’s parliamentary committee to discuss what he called the “deep crisis” it is facing as it falls in the polls, while press reports suspect that the subject of leadership is also going to be tackled.
