Malta-flag Cargo Ship Runs Aground Off Of Andros

A Malta-flagged cargo ship, sailing without cargo from Halkida to Romania, mysteriously ran aground early Thursday morning on a rocky outlet off the island of Andros, resulting in a small take-in of water. According to the Athens news agency all ten crew members - eight Ukrainians and two Russians - were reported to be safe and uninjured. Reports said that a Greek Coast Guard vessel was quickly dispatched to the scene and was on stand-by to provide assistance if and when it was needed. No marine pollution was reported.
