Two draft laws for abolition of the so-called Ragoussis Law on acquiring Greek nationality were tabled in parliament separately by the Independent Greeks party and the ultra-right Chryssi Avghi (Golden Dawn) party. The draft law by the Independent Greeks was tabled after midnight Sunday upon completion of the vote of confidence following the coalition government's policy statement, and had been a campaign pledge by party leader Panos Kammenos. Chryssi Avghi MPs, in turn, said that the Council of State has ruled as unconstitutional the provisions for Greek nationality. (Source in Greek -
