Gov't In Favor of Migrants, Roma & Expatriates Joining Police Force
Alternate Minister of Public Order Yannis Panousis was quoted as saying this week that he supports the idea of migrants, Roma gypsies and expatriates joining the police force. Addressing a police union event, Panousis said that at least five percent of inductees at the police academy should belong to these social groups.
He also said that the police force will undergo a series of reforms over the few weeks and major the present structure and operation of the riot police will be greatly altered. He also announced that the DELTA and DIAS motorcycle units are going to merge.
