Will DIMAR and SYRIZA Unite?

Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis opened the door to cooperation with the main opposition SYRIZA during his speech to DIMAR's Executive Committee and the party's parliamentary group concluded after midnight on Monday night.

According to a report from the state owned ANA/MPA news agency, Kouvelis said that he had a phone contact with Alexis Tsipras without saying when, adding that they have discussed the possibility of cooperation between their parties at the general elections.

The same sources said that Kouvelis did not get into details, but several members and some deputies expressed their opposition on the grounds that DIMAR will risk being absorbed by SYRIZA.
