BREAKING - Greek Fighter Jet Crashes In Area Between Rhodope and Evros - Pilot Safe

A report on SKAI television said on Tuesday morning that a Hellenic Air Force fighter jet was seen crashing to the ground during various military exercises that have been taking place in the area between Rhodope and Evros on Greece's northeastern border.

The pilot is believed to have managed to escape. Residents in the area witnessed a parachute eject from the A-7 Corsair's cockpit moments before the crash.

According to some reports in the Greek press the pilot is being transferred to a hospital in Komotini as we speak but the exact condition of his health is still unknown.

The reasons for the crash are still unknown, but HellasFrappe will be following the story and if there are any developments, we will post on update so check back every so often.
