If you plan on visiting a beach that has a lifeguard, a canteen, showers, changing rooms and is regularly cleaned then whip out your wallet. A study by a consumer organization called EKPOIZO claims that the cost of an umbrella and sun bed for an average four-member family can go up to 40 euros. Add the entrance fees to this, as well as drinks and sandwiches and a day at the beach can cost a family of four almost 100 euros.
This reality has put a large strain on many Greek families who want to enjoy a Sunday outing at the beach. As such, Deputy Minister of Growth Gerasimos Giakoumatos, told the ANT1 news show on Monday morning that he intends to reassess the cost of essential goods and services that are sold at all these organized beaches, with the aim of making them more affordable for the average citizen.
We hope so, but HellasFrappe is not planning to count its chickens before they hatch. This is because Greek politicians (and especially Giakoumatos) are not very credible when it comes to taking action, they are actually better known for filling our heads with a lot of bla bla bla bla bla.
