FYROM's VMRO-DPMNE government minister of Education and Science Spiro Ristovski, together with the Mayor of Aerodrom (Skopje's eastern urban neighborhood), Ivica Konevski, unveiled a sculpture in FYROM, for which, the minister explicitly stated, is one of "Aleksandar Makedonski" (Alexander of Macedon - Alexander the Great). The sculpture is within the courtyard of an eponymous primary school.
Part of the ceremony was nothing less than a political manipulation of little children wearing costumes resembling designs of classical antiquity. This act is yet another, most recent, breach of the 1995 Interim Accord by the officials of the central executive and local branches of the FYROM.
During a period of political transition in FYROM, the unveiling of the statue , which quite incidentally was well-covered by this country's Media, openly suggests that Nikola Gruevski and his government is simply going to continue along the same hardline policy in relation to the Macedonian Issue against Greece.
