Ernst & Young Survey: Bribery & Corruption Widespread in Greece

More than 70% of Greek executives believe that bribery and corrupt practices are widespread in Greece, according to a new survey by Ernst & Young. According to the results, the threat of cybercrime is considered as very serious by Greek and UK based companies. In fact, participants said they were more concerned about cybercrime more than all the other respondents from all the other 57 countries taking party in the survey.

On the contrary, nearly half of the respondents from the other countries (48%) do not consider emerging external threats — such as cybercrime - as a serious threat for their companies, but they said their main concern was from hackers.

Moreover, 40% respondents (from all 59 countries surveyed) said they believe bribery and corrupt practices happen widely in their nations.

Interestingly one fifth of these participants said that the companies they work for have yet to formulate and/or implement policies again corruption and bribery, while others said they were not aware of such policies at their workforce.
