SYRIZA Determined To Forge Partnerships with Former PASOK members

Alexis Tsipras, the leader of the radical left opposition party SYRIZA, is determined to forge partnerships with forces from PASOK -and from the center-left as well- ignoring the intra-party reactions.

Apparently, the case of Odysseas Voudouris is highly indicative of the attitudes of the SYRIZA’s leadership. A report in ProtoThema said that not only does SYRIZA stand by its choice to have Voudouris as a Prefect candidate in the Peloponnese, but this alliance suggests Tsipras’ aim which wants to open up to all these forces.

SYRIZA’s aim, says ProtoThema, is to establish a broad front to overturn the memorandum policy and it is unknown whether they the party will stay within the limits of the center, or if it will attempt to reach out to other former members of the PASOK party (which we all know is crumbling). We also don't know if it will agree to collaborate with the Independent Greeks party either. And this is because SYRIZA itself is confused on which policy line to take.

More exactly, all the recent moves by Tsipras have not sat well with the left wing of SYRIZA and according to reports, even though they are not geared for a conflict with the leadership, the ultra-left platform of the party is determined to raise its voice and concern over Tsipras' recent twists and turns.
