BUSTED - Brother-In-Law Of Andonis Giorgiadis Wanted By Interpol, FBI

John Karayannidis, who is the brother of conductor and television host Evgenia Manolidou, who is married to the Greek Minister of Health Andonis Giorgiadis, is apparently on Interpol's most wanted list.

According to a plethora of reports in the Greek news on Friday, Karayannidis, who is charged of felony, fraud and the contamination of the environment, has been wanted by the American Environment Agency since 1999.

In 1999. Mr. Karayannidis allegedly emptied a load of 487 kg of grains contaminated with oil at sea, off the coast of South China. Cross-referencing the information, we read on Interpol's most wanted list that he was charged by US officials for conspiracy to illegally discharge oil and an oily mixture, to obstruct an agency proceeding and to defraud the United States.

In 2005 Interpol issued an international arrest warrant against him and on July 17, 2009 a Prosecutor from the Athens Court of Appeals forwarded the case to the Ministry of Justice demanding that the warrant be executed.

(There are benefits when you are married to a Greek minister... Even though your brother is wanted for committing fraud, and environmental pollution, he never gets arrested! No wonder Manolidou remains married to Andonis!)

The story gets even better. Karayannidis is married to Efthimia Andreoulakos. She is the niece of the present Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Order Mr. Athanasios Andreoulakos and daughter to a former New Democracy MP, Apostolos Andreoulakos.

It is more than obvious that both Georgiadis and Andreoulakos are well aware about the warrants against Mr. Karayannidis (and that they may be purposely ignoring the international arrest warrants in fear that it would smear their reputations.)

The issue was raised after MP for the Independent Greek party Marina Chrysoveloni submitted a question on the matter to the Minister of Public Order, Nikos Dendias, as well as to the Minister of Justice, Charalambos Athanassiou on October 13, 2013. She apparently received no answer, and two months later she decided to submit the question again and this time Dendias was forced to answer to her inquiry.

According to him, authorities have yet to receive any information and/or warrants against Karayannidis, (or the brother-in-law of the Greek Minister of Health).
