The Vice-President of the Egyptian High Constitutional Court Tahani al-Gebali, said in an interview to al-Kibir Bitna last August that "Obama's brother [Malik] is one of the architects of the investment strategy on behalf of the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood."

According to an English translation by Walid Shoebat (a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood today peace activist), al-Gebali said that:

We will uphold the law, and the Americans can not stop us. We need to open the files and initiate legal proceedings. The Obama administration can not stop us, they know they supported terrorism. We will open the folder to show how they have collaborated with the terrorists.

Shoebat said on Sept. 5 that several Egyptian media personalities reported that Malik Obama, the half brother of U.S. President Barack Obama, is currently under investigation in Egypt for his role in the Islamic Dawa (IDO), domiciled in Sudan, as well as within the Muslim Brotherhood in general.

Complaints have been filed with the Attorney General Hisham Barakat, so that Malik Obama be placed on the watch list of the Egyptian authorities and questioned about his role in the financing of international Islamic terrorism.

Malik Obama is the executive secretary of the IDO, whose objective is to promote the Saudi Wahhabi version of Islam throughout the African continent. It is likely that IDO is associated with the International Islamic Council for Dawa and Relief (IICDR), which brings together 86 Islamic organizations, and resides in Cairo. Its secretary general Abdullah Omar Nasseef is also chairman of the World Islamic Congress, a leading organization of the Muslim Brotherhood. Nasseef was also Secretary General of the Muslim World League (sponsored by a Saudi organization) and co-founded in 1988 with former Pakistani President Zia-ul-Haq, the Rabita Trust, the financial arm League. It was placed under investigation by the U.S. Senate (and later designated by the Al-Qaeda Committee of the UN Security Council as close to al Qaeda organization Nation.
