Two new earth quakes jolted the area of Amfiklia, central Greece on Tuesday. The first quake, was recorded at 8:46 am, and measured 3.9 on the Richter scale while the second quake, occurred at 10:30 am, and measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. The quakes followed two other tremors that were recorded in the same area on Monday, measuring 4.5 and 4.8 on the Richter scale, respectively. No casualties were registered at the time, but many old homes were damaged. Interestingly, the 5.1 quake that shook the same area in August was followed by over 1,300 aftershocks. Of these, approximately 900 have registered between 1 and 1.2 on the Richter scale, while 6 quakes have been recorded to be over 4 on the Richter scale.
