Greece: Choice Destination For Millions Of Tourists

Greece is the choice of many for their vacation this year. The following are articles that have appeared in the international media, over the last few days, and lure their readers to the wonders of the islands.

The Guardian - "Island-hopping: Greece's Small Cyclades" by Giles Frasier, was published on July 12 in the British newspaper The Guardian. It is an extended article-tribute that praises the Greek islands, focusing on the smaller Cycladic ones. Moreover, the newspaper describes the dozens of activities offered, from island-hopping to sea kayaking and swimming in caves near Keros, along with seals and dolphins in Schinoussa.

The Telegraph - British newspaper The Telegraph has cited a guide to eight of the most popular Greek Islands, featuring the best hotels, restaurants and attractions, chosen by Greece expert Marc Dubin.

Greek Islands Travel Guide - The Greek Islands Travel Guide describes "10 Greek islands as perfect vacation spots, including Crete, which it ranks among the top 100 spots in the world as a destination for visitors." The other islands on this impressive list are: Corfu, Hydra, Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Santorini, and Skiathos.

Die Welt - According to an article published in German newspaper Die Welt titled "Greece is the winner of the summer season," Germans travel more than they did in the past and German travel agencies have already noted an increase of 18% for bookings for the month of October. "Greece is the big winner for the summer season," the representative of Thomas Cook Tours said. "The star for the year 2013 is Greece, which succeeded a turnover increase up to 30% in some offices," the newspaper reports. At TUI, Europe's largest operator of travel packages, Greece ranks third in 2013, while Spain tops the list.
