Court Undecided On Tschochatzopoulos's Request for Testimony From KYSEA

The prosecutors at the ongoing trial of ex-PASOK Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos apparently requested that the judges in the case, reject his request for the members of the Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) who co-signed the procurement deals under scrutiny to testify. Nonetheless, the judges still have to decide.

Tsochatzopoulos, who served as defense minister between 1996 and 2001, under the Costas Simitis government, is accused of taking bribes and laundering money as part of the process of awarding procurement contracts.

A court ruling on the issue is expected on Friday.
