Youth unemployment in Greece increased to over 60 percent for the first time and the figure has almost tripled since Greece's debt crisis emerged in 2009. While the overall unemployment rate rose to 27 percent, unemployment among those aged between 15 and 24 skyrocketed to approximately 64.2 percent in February from 59.3 percent in January.
The figure was more than twice the Eurozone’s average unemployment reading of 12.1 percent in March.
