Archbishop Demetrios Asks US President To Protect Ecumenical Patriarch

Archbishop Demetrios of America apparently sent a letter to US President Barack Obama asking the American President to do everything that he could in order to ensure the safety and well-being of Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios following the shocking reports from Turkey on Thursday and Friday claiming that there was a plot to assassinate the leader of the Orthodox Church.

Vartholomaios remains the highest-level Christian religious leader in a Muslim country.

In his letter, Demetrios asked Obama to “exercize his good offices to ensure the safety of His All Holiness."
